Public invited to share views on the regeneration of Saxonvale in Frome.

Acorn Property Group is inviting the public to share their views on the future regeneration of the Saxonvale site in Frome this January.

Developer Acorn Property Group will be hosting a two-day event next month allowing the public to share their views and aspirations for the future of the former industrial site.

Acorn and Mendip District Council, the landowner, exchanged on a Sale and Overage Agreement which will see Acorn pursuing the planning process and working up an application with architects NASH Partnerships.

Following the event on the 11th and 12th January at The Silk Mill in Frome Acorn will work with NASH architects to draw up detailed plans with a view to submitting a planning application in Spring 2019.

The Saxonvale site has laid derelict for 10 years, a key town centre site that sits adjacent to the River Frome and a short walk to the High Street. It was bought by Mendip District Council earlier in the year in order to facilitate regeneration.

Robin Squire Regional Managing Director at Acorn’s Bristol office commented, ‘We are excited to be working on a project to bring regeneration to the area of Saxonvale in Frome, and provide a high-quality mixed-use for the town. Being mindful of the site’s history, the public consultation will be a great chance to hear from the community and discuss opportunities for the site.’
