GREEN LIGHT FOR SAXONVALE REDEVELOPMENT

We’re delighted to announce that planning permission has been granted for the long-awaited regeneration of Saxonvale in the Somerset town of Frome.

Outline plans have been approved to transform a 10-acre brownfield site and create a sustainable new neighbourhood of 300 open market and affordable homes, along with 45,000 sq ft of commercial space. Flexible in design, the expansive commercial element will include live/work units, restaurants and retail opportunities to complement the existing high street, as well as a purpose-built co-working area.

This vibrant mixed-use scheme will also deliver high-quality public space including a new riverside café, play park facilities and a thriving public square designed as an adaptable open-air venue. All carefully considered to foster the vitality and cohesion of this new neighbourhood as a destination and a community hub for the residents of Frome.

We look forward to progressing to the next stage of reserved matters application.

Continuing on from the success of our current development in Frome, The Old Printworks, Saxonvale will secure a strong presence for Acorn in the area for the next 5 years.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in this journey so far.
